Collective Impact: Why You Need a Team to Reach Your Circle of Accountability
“A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” — Ecclesiastes 4:12
Why TEAM Is Essential in Disciple Making
The Bible is full of teams. In Genesis, God builds a team with Adam and Eve. That didn’t go as planned. But when Jesus arrives, what’s the first thing He does? He builds a team. From the Gospels to Acts, we see this clearly: Jesus and His followers advanced the Kingdom in teams.
If you're trying to reach your Circle of Accountability (COA), you can’t do it alone. You need a team.
---What Is Collective Impact?
Collective Impact means that your team isn’t just gathered—but aligned, empowered, and focused for mission. Whether you’re starting a disciple making movement or working within a small group, your collective health determines your effectiveness.
Assessment may feel uncomfortable, but without it, you won’t know if your efforts are aligned or effective. So take a breath and reflect: where are you—and your team—on the road to impact?
---Personal & Team Assessment: Rate Each Element
On a scale of 1 (least) to 20 (most), how would you rate your team or yourself in each of these five areas?
- Why TEAM? – Do you understand the biblical and practical importance of teamwork?
- Shared Purpose: Is there alignment around mission, vision, and values?
- Clear Roles: Does everyone know what they bring to the table?
- Healthy Communication: Is feedback welcomed and given regularly?
- Commitment to Growth: Are we investing in learning, skills, and spiritual maturity?
Total your score. What is your team’s strength? Where’s your biggest opportunity?
