Half Nights of Prayer: Fueling Disciple-Making Through Focused Intercession
Imagine gathering your friends, church, or small group to pray for your city for four hours straight. Around the world, Half Nights of Prayer (HNP) have become a powerful tool for disciple-making movements—uniting people in prayer for revival, spiritual breakthrough, and Kingdom expansion.
What Are Half Nights of Prayer?
Half Nights of Prayer are extended times (usually 6–10 PM) devoted to strategic, Spirit-led intercession. They’re used to build a deeper connection with God, train others to pray, and intercede for social networks, neighborhoods, and entire cities. Whether monthly, quarterly, or weekly, HNPs help believers grow in love for others and become more engaged in mission.
Why Host a Half Night of Prayer?
- Increase prayer capacity in your community
- Train new believers in how to intercede with purpose
- Inspire love for the lost and movement vision
- Create space for God to speak, heal, and call
Getting Started With HNP
- Invite: Gather as few as 5 or as many as 500 people. If you exceed 15, split into smaller groups with facilitators.
- Plan: Use a flexible agenda and rotate tools for variety. Find tools at movementprayer.org.
