Building a Biblically Flourishing Community (BFC) Planting Team
What does it take to build a redemptive community that embodies the ecclesia Jesus is building? Below is a practical guide for forming a Biblically Flourishing Community (BFC) that is rooted in obedience, love, and mission.
Core Values
- Obedience to God
- Love for one another
- Pursuit of God’s Mission
What is a Biblically Flourishing Community?
A BFC is a group growing together in faith, love, and mission. It reflects the embryonic definition of the church that Jesus is building—dynamic, multiplying, and centered on God's Word.
How Does It Develop?
- Apostolic Team Gatherings
- Discovery Groups
Core Components of a BFC
- Eyes for the lost – awareness and intentional engagement with unreached people
- Context for relational and spiritual growth – life-on-life discipleship
- Context for discovering God – consistent exposure to Scripture and obedience-based learning
Turning the Flywheel
Movement happens through persistent faithfulness in these four areas:
- Start – Begin small, slow, and deliberate
- Train – Develop Habits of a Multiplying Disciple
- Coach – Meet regularly to encourage and evaluate
- BFC/Church – Be the church as you plant the Gospel
