Kingdom Prayer: A Disciple-Making Approach to the Lord’s Prayer

Are you praying for the Kingdom of God to break into your life, family, and community? Jesus not only taught us what to pray, but how to join Him in bringing Heaven to earth. This Kingdom Prayer is a Spirit-led reflection of the Lord’s Prayer, specifically crafted for disciple-makers and those on mission with Jesus.

What Does It Mean to Pray the Lord’s Prayer as a Disciple Maker?

When Jesus said, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven,” He invited us to pray against the kingdom of darkness and align our lives with the mission of God. This prayer helps you intercede strategically—wherever you live, work, or serve.

Kingdom Prayer: A Seven-Part Reflection

1. Our Father in Heaven

God in Heaven, our Father, thank You that we can boldly enter Your throne room. You love us and have adopted us for Your purpose and Your glory. (Hebrews 10:19–22; Ephesians 1:5–6)

2. Hallowed Be Your Name

We declare that You are above all in every way. We worship You alone and love You with all our heart, soul, and strength. (Ephesians 1:20–21; Deuteronomy 6:4–5)

3. Your Kingdom Come, Your Will Be Done

Let Your Kingdom take root—in our lives, families, cities, and nations. Replace the kingdom of darkness with the Kingdom of Heaven. As Your servants and children, we align with Your mission. We will proclaim Your Kingdom and make disciples. (Ephesians 1:11, 14; 1 Corinthians 6:19–20; Matthew 28:19)

4. Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread

Provide what we need for today’s assignments. Teach us to abide in You, that we may bear much fruit. (Ephesians 2:10; John 15:4–5)

5. Forgive Us Our Debts

Show us who we need to forgive, just as You have forgiven us. Restore what is broken in our relationships. (Matthew 18:21–35; 1 John 1:9)

6. Lead Us Not into Temptation

Keep us from the traps of the enemy. Deliver us from spiritual attack as we serve You, that Your name may be glorified. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

7. For Yours Is the Kingdom, Power, and Glory

You are the rightful ruler of all things. Reign over us. Empower us to reflect Your image and advance Your Kingdom with boldness and joy. (Ephesians 1:11, 23)
