What Is the Tactical Four Prayer Strategy?
The Tactical Four Prayer is a four-part model used in disciple making movements (DMM) to pray over specific people, neighborhoods, or unreached groups. Each part is rooted in Scripture and targets a different spiritual barrier to breakthrough:
- DRAW – Pray that God draws people to Himself
- BIND – Pray to bind the enemy’s influence
- BREAK – Pray to break spiritual strongholds
- OPEN – Pray to open minds to the gospel
1. DRAW People to God
“No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them...” – John 6:44
Pray that the Father would draw individuals by name into relationship with Jesus. Ask for divine appointments and open hearts. This is where movement starts—with God’s initiative.
2. BIND the Enemy
“No one can enter a strong man’s house without first tying him up.” – Mark 3:27
Bind the powers of darkness that seek to block, confuse, or distract those you’re praying for. Jesus has authority over Satan—ask Him to restrain the enemy’s schemes and clear the way for spiritual awakening.
3. BREAK Strongholds
“They have divine power to demolish strongholds.” – 2 Corinthians 10:4
Strongholds are deeply rooted lies or behaviors—addictions, false religion, pride, anger. Name them. Ask God to break these chains so that people are free to receive truth and follow Jesus boldly.
4. OPEN Their Minds
“He opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.” – Luke 24:45
Pray for supernatural revelation. Ask God to remove spiritual blindness, confusion, and resistance to the gospel. Pray they will see Jesus clearly and surrender their lives fully.
